Televisions have seen major changes in the last few decades. Televisions have got bigger in size, while getting more compact and lightweight. Is the culmination of this technology, at the point when we have HDTV projectors of the equivalent, giving us pristine quality sound and vision? Join me as we look into the future!

Televisions have seen major changes in the last few decades. And considering that television is a technology which is relatively new, it is amazing to think about the improvements we have seen, in such a short period of time.

The origins of what would become today's television system can be traced back to the discovery of the photoconductivity of the element selenium by Willoughby Smith in 1873, the invention of a scanning disk by Paul Gottlieb Nipkow in 1884, and Philo Farnsworth's Image dissector in 1927.

Today's televisions have had a big change, and that is down to high definition technology. The question comes how real can we go? If we take our cue from games, we find that the gaming industry is aiming to ever bring us more realistic game play.

So, we have HDTV sets that produce an image that looks as real as we have ever seen. However, is it just going to stop with a box? HDTV projectors look like they will become the next phase of how we have entertainment at home.

And we can see why this is happening. The projectors of the past were no use for television viewing. Today however, the HDTV projectors allow you to create a home cinema at a price which is similar to buying a HDTV set. The difference obviously is a television measured in meters instead of inches!

Right now, home cinemas are becoming more and more popular. And we can see why. If offered television that is non portable, and restrictive, verses a projector HDTV system, you likely would go for the projector.

Now, this is looking at today, however, what about tomorrow? What about 10 years, 20 years down the line? Where will technology with television viewing go?

These questions are important ones to consider. In normal day to day life, and how it impacts your television viewing is not that much of a concern, as any further upgrades will like always happen gradually, with increasingly better technology.

What can be seen is that we want our television to offer so much more. We want to connect our PC up and be able to use it in high definition. We want entertainment which is not only what a director, actors, and all the rest of the crew who make a film for our pleasure, but also one where we can interact.

There will come a point where we have 3D viewing, and it will seem as though the characters are standing there. This technology is a while off, before it gets into most homes, but for today, we all can still enjoy home cinema with HDTV projectors.
